The two worlds cups that were beofre Chile were Swtilzerland 1954, the Champion was Germany by opposing 3-2 to the Hungaries. The other World Cup after Chile was in Sweden 1958 and the Champion was Brazil by opposing to Sweden by 5-2 in that final Pele was only 17 years old and he scored 2 goals in the final.

The four semifinalists were: Chile 2-4 Brazil and Czechoslovakia 3-1 Yugoslavia. The Final was on the big stadium called "Estadio Nacional de Chile" with 68,000 of people watching the final. Brazil won the final 3-1 against Czecoslovakia. Pele was the key man for the winning of the game even he didn't score any goal on the final.
